Fun in Cardiff & Manchester (inc. gig's #35 & #36 of 08)

Thank god I was wise enough to spend Friday night in this weekend. Had I not, I really don't think I would be functioning adequately enough to post this blog, let alone attempt to resume the normality of a working week.
I am currently smug as fuck. Buzzin and super happy.
This weekend has been immense.

Saturday Ash put on the fantastic Errors and Zail in clwb. Fun times had by all.

4 hours sleep and i was awoken by an impromptu pillow fighting session, then it was up and away to manchester to see radiohead.
Gareth and I picked up Grace and Beev and we headed off up North.

Here is a camper van we saw in the services. It is wearing a poker visor. It is towing half a caravan. It made us laugh.

Our apartment was stellar! Got it for muchos cheapos online.

So I found myself in an apartment in Manchester with 2 Balconies, 2 bathrooms, Cable TV, Apple computer, Hoover, lamps, Fruit, 2 of my best mates, a hot man. It had the lot. We couldn't fail to have an ace time. We knew then that even if Radiohead were shit, we were gonna have fun!

They weren't shit. They were immense. The set list of the show is here. Hit after hit after hit. Flawless. I do LOVE this band.

We had just witnessed an amazing show, then we ate the best burgers of our lives before leaving. Unfortunately we had to endure a 3 mile trek back to the apartment. I think Grace had the best time walking back. I witnessed her roll down an embankment like she was 8, and say the words 'Give us a go on your cat!' to some random strangers on the side of the road with a cat. Good times :)

Got back to the 'diff and straight to a beer garden. Hooked up with Ash and filled her in on the Manchester antics. I got grumpy cos I was sooo tired and Ash was being wholly inappropriate. Crossing the line many a time. I was laughing inside, but to tired to convey that in any other way than by being externally grumpy :)

Went home and slept. Woken up with 'a Cheshire cat grrrrrrrrrrrin' today.

The sun is shining. All is good. I am at a point in my life that I have been striving for forever. A group of amazing mates and loads of good times. If I fail at everything else in life. I don't care. Aslong as fun like this continues, I'll feel like i've won.

Radiohead and my impending weekend of wreckin & wrongin

So I am off to see, arguable, my favourite band play on Sunday.
I say favourite because they are the band I have loved the longest and who are continuing to make records which blow me away. Due to my love of listening to new stuff, my 'favourite' band varies weekly, but for longevity and continual 'wow this is fuckin amazin' it has to be Radiohead at #1..... well this week anyway.... arf...arf...

£50 a ticket though! There are not many bands I would willingly pay £50 (and travel to Manchester) to see play. They are sure to be excellent though. I saw them at the commercial wank fest that is the V Festival a few years ago (free tickets. i wouldn't pay to go to join such a mass assembling of twats, who's musical interest primarily revolve around whatever shit chris moyles is stuffing into their ears of a morning and who persistently listen to their ipods on 'shuffle'.. ).... anyway yeah, the V Festival. They shone. Despite finding myself dancing alone in a sea of fucktards... they were amazing..... one of the best things i have seen.....

Ash is putting on Errors in Clwb on Saturday night. That is sure to insight a 'dance off' amongst me and my homegirls :).... looking forward to it muchly.

I got sent this via twitter earlier today. It is a remix of Radioheads Nude. Its done sampling printers, Scanners and internal harddrive speakers. It is beautiful. My eyes = dampened.

I am just listening to Exit Music for a Film for the first time in AGES. When the drums kick in at the end.... ahhh fuckin hell.... i have heard it a million times and it still blows me away.......... And....now Let Down is on. Probably my favourite song on OK Computer....... beautiful..... at 4:08..... best part of the whole song... best part of the whole album. It is 10 years and 10 days since OK computer was released. How many albums make you this excited 10 years after you brought it?..... not enough! :)

I want a tattoo. I want one that means something. I something that is a symbol, rather than words or a picture or something shit. I think this would be ace. And I can always put a watch over the top of it to hide it from my folks :)

Just a normal sunday night (gig #34 of 08)

This weekend had been pretty much non-eventful. I averted the train crash that sounds like the night I nearly went out on with beev and his p-town cru. Having opted for a 'quiet one' I stayed in and caught up on some much needed zzzzz's. Saturday I full on wrecked myself by trying to make up for a week of not exercising and doing it all in one go. This was not the best decision I have made to be honest. I spent 2 hours working on my 'gunz' in the gym, came home and went for a bitchin run to the beach and back (30 mins), then spent the rest of the evening unable to move.
I finally managed to watch Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas for the first time ever. Fuckin A! Obviously, being of the demographic which I fall under, I have read the book..... but i have not seen the film (like so many other films I have not seen. I am not a film head. Music is my medium of choice... is music a medium? I rekon its a large...)
Anyway. Ace film. Laughed. Alot. LOL, LMAO etc. etc.

So, tonight, I had made plans with 3 people to hook up and go to a gig in town. But unfortunately, had to blow them all out.
Why?
Well.
Ash phones me at 7ish going... 'mate, what day is it?' and i'm like.... (in my head) no, your birthday has been... umm... she goes 'fuckin Atmosphere in Brizzle tonight innit!'...... double 'Doh!'. Brought tickets about a month ago and totally forgot it was 'appenin.
So, I gets my shit together, blow all 3 people out that I was supposed to hook up with (sorry Grace, Ellie and Gar). Razz round 'hers' and head off to Brizzle.

Atmosphere was ace. He has Flow, rhymz and sincerity in what he is spittin..... and he is hot..... loved it.
Mid way through the gig, I notice Ash getting chatted up by a blatant gay girl (facial piercings (many)... was in a camo tshirt with 'ladykiller' written on it.... short of wearing a flashing helmet of lights with 'I AM A GAY' on it, it was pretty obvious). So this girl quizzes Ash on where she hangs out (amongst many other inappropriate questions for an 'ummm i watchin a fuckin show here' chat). Ash tells her at gigs and that, and the girl goes 'with her?' gesturing in my general direction. So ash goes 'yeah'. So from that point on, me and ash were a couple. Turns out these girls (there was another, Chey and Tasha. Nice girls. Tasha was quite umm 'vocal', but generally quiet pleasant) were in need of a lift back to Newport. So me, being the nice girl that I am, said 'yeah why not'. So me and my girlfriend Ash gave them a lift home. How we laughed.
Nice to be gay for the evening. Nice to be accepted by other gays.
It was all ash's fault, but she said that it was my fault for looking like a gay with my haircut. This is either a diss or a compliment. I can't work out which.
I must be one hot gay to pull smash. I'll take it as a compliment :)
Anyway. its gone 2am. I need to go to bed. Not a great start to my working week. But tonight will keep me amused til atleast Wednesday I rekon.
