Spent Monday to Friday this week on what some might refer to a 'mini break' with my man.
We were lucky enough to blag it in to my Aunties holiday cottage, which was beautiful!
Here is Gareth cooking me dinner in the kitchen of said cottage....
Gareth was lovely enough to do the cooking all week. All I cooked was some cheese sandwiches to take on a walk. Here is Gareth with said cheese sandwiches. Look how excited he is. They were that good :)
Had an ace week. Weather was beautiful.
I purchased my first ever pair of walking boots for the trip. I had always opted for keeping my street style in the countryside by wearing trainers while out walking... but Gareth assured me that even my yellow and black Nike Hi Dunks wouldn't' be up to the job this time, so, seeing as we would be in the middle of nowhere (where no one would see me dressed up like a twat rambler), I brought a pair. OMG! They are ace. 4x4 footwear. I climbed up rocks in them and everything!
Binning trainers. Walking boots man. They are the future i'm telling you.
Here I am dressed up as said twat rambler (or REMbler as gar called me) inside a cliff at 3 cliffs bay.
In another first, we hired surfboards and wetsuits and I actually wore a wet suit. It was amazing. I was in the sea, in October, and it was warm. From now on I shall only be wearing wet suits and walking boots. Clothing of the future.
Here I am in said wet suit.... oh and when I said I hired a surfboard, it was actually a boogie board. I said surfboard to sound cool, when in fact all I did was flail around in water up to my waist (while occasionally appearing to drown) with an oversized float tied to my wrist. Loadsa fun though!
Drank a coupla real Ales in country pubs (thanks to smash for showing the way of the Ale) and found a place called Slade. How we laughed... look....
Fun times.
Back home now.
Off to see The Gentle Good do an instore in Spillers in a bit. Then out tonight to his album launch gig in the Norweigan Church down the bay. Should be pretty pretty good.

My average of gigs per week this year is slipping. I was running at a 1.5 per week average. Its down to 1.3 now. This must mean that my fun to work ratio has changed. You would think. OR is it that I have been finding alternative ways to have fun other than by going to see bands....
Last week I did get to see some live music in the form of Lyrics Born at the Thekla in Bristol.
We've been looking forward to seeing him for fair few weeks now. His album 'Everywhere at Once' is a classic summer album which I can be heard pumpin out loud from my car, low riding through town with the windows down... often with ash in the passenger seat trying to master the words to his awesome tune 'I like it I love it' (she usually fails after the first verse, but what she lacks in accuracy, she makes up for in effort!).....
Since I last blogged, I hammered this whole book (almost) in 24hrs.
Couldn't put it down from start to finish. Well I did put it down, a few times, mainly to take a deep breath and go 'fuckin hell'. Mark Everett is the real name of E from the band Eels. He has one hell of a life. You need to read this. It makes you feel extremely lucky that your life hasn't been this fucked up (well it did me). Havent been a major fan of Eels before, but since reading this I have brought these:

Worked in spillers on Saturday. Always fun and I get to go home with an arm load of new CD's. There is not a lot better than having a bag of new music to listen to. Pisses over downloading 0 and 1's i'm telling you.
Had a lovely evening hanging out with my home girls on Saturday. Especially loved driving around town listening to:
How times change. I used to drive around town blasting drum and bass of a summer saturday evening.
In a new experience for me, I had my mates make the 30min ride out of town to come see me in my manor. We went for a walk down to the beach and hung out in the sun. Was a nice day.

I am currently having my mind blown by Smog and Neil Young..... while embarking on a love affair with 60's Psych.... hoping this affair will blossom into a full blown relationship. Its really doing it for me now anyway.
Off to the 'don tomorrow. £12 return on the Megabus! barryargin!

Last night smAsh, Beev and I Went for a burn down to Ogmore beach to catch the sunset. Was beginning to think we wouldn't make it until sun rise, the time it took 'people' to get their shit together.
Well worth the hassle though:
We threw rocks at a can (and each other) and made the worlds lamest fire. It was good to hang out and do nice wholesome activities instead of the usual rawkus city based wrongings.
Looking forward to much beach action this summer!
